🏠 Enclosure
- Use the enclosure dimensions, heating, humidity, and safety values from the structured care profile and full care guide.
🪨 Enclosure furniture
- 15 cm of shape-holding substrate for the lower retreat and juvenile burrowing
- Vertical cork tube or angled bark linking the base to an upper webbed hide
- Stable twigs or foliage as web anchors, with a shallow water dish below
- Keep the door and service route clear so maintenance does not dismantle the retreat
- Lock every opening and avoid mesh, weak magnets, loose panels, and large cable holes
💡 Lighting
- No UVB or specialist lighting required; a normal room day-night rhythm is enough
- Photoperiod: 10-12 h of subdued ambient light; no night light
- Keep plant or display lighting indirect and outside the enclosure where possible
- Avoid bright hot lamps that dry the upper webbing or trap the spider near the top
🌡️ Temperature
- Basking spot: 25-28 °C
- Warm zone: 24-28 °C
- Cool zone: 22-24 °C
- Night: 21-24 °C
💧 Humidity & water
- Target 70-85% humidity with constant cross-ventilation and fresh water always available
- Hold most moisture in the substrate and lower retreat while keeping upper webbing airy
- Keep spiderlings in smaller ventilated containers with controlled lower-layer moisture
- During premolt, raise local lower-retreat moisture toward 80-90%, then let exposed surfaces dry
- Water one side or around the dish; avoid heavy misting, wet webbing, condensation, and stale air
🪳 Feeding
- Feed according to the prey type and schedule in the structured care profile; remove uneaten prey promptly.
🩺 Health — warning signs
- Watch for appetite loss, abnormal posture, injury, breathing issues, failed shedding or molting, and sustained weight loss.
